(Regina July 30, 2025) The conference planning committee is excited to announce that early Bird Online Registration is now open for BuildGreen Saskatchewan 2025 Conference in Regina at www.buildgreenprairie.com
Hosted collaboratively by the Regina and Saskatoon ASHRAE Chapters, this landmark building decarbonization conference will take place November 12–13, 2025, at the University of Regina, Main Campus.
This is more than a conference - it’s a call to action.
Join us as we explore solutions, partnerships, and innovations that are shaping the future of Saskatchewan’s built environment. Our volunteer team has worked hard to bring together a stellar lineup of speakers across the building sector, including keynote speaker Ginger Scoggins.
We are beyond excited to announce our keynote speaker for BuildGreen Saskatchewan 2025 — Ginger Scoggins, P.E., Fellow ASHRAE, and ASHRAE Global Society President for 2023–2024.
In her keynote address, Ginger will explore the urgent intersection of climate migration, urban growth, and the rising demand for air conditioning. She notes:
“Climate migration from rural to urban areas will result in hotter city environments, increasing the need for additional air conditioning and more refrigerant use — creating a circular loop of higher energy consumption, hotter cities, and more GHG emissions. The increase in commercial and residential air conditioning loads in the coming years is anticipated to stress the power sector and could potentially cause grid outages. These outages may leave customers without the ability to operate air conditioning systems during extreme heat events, resulting in life safety issues.”
Ginger will unpack the possibilities of how we, here in Saskatchewan, can design both urban and rural communities for resilience — building a pathway that is not only technically robust, but truly sustainable for all.
